Artist's Description

This painting of two dancers leaping into the air has been my most talked about painting. I displayed it in New York at the Avery Fisher Hall gallery in Lincoln Center back in the 90s. A lost patron on vacation from Germany asked to meet the artist to make an offer to buy it.

I was on vacation myself and had a note on my desk when I came back into work. It said that he wanted to meet me to explain to me why he had to have this painting. We met and had lunch, and his story was riveting.

He bought the painting and I shipped it off to Germany. In my excitement, I had forgotten that I had not signed the painting. Each year he would come back to New York and visit me and ask me when I was coming to Germany. I had no intention of ever going to Germany at the time. As luck would have it, I was offered an international tour in a show, and one of our stops was Germany. I called up my patron and he came to the show.

Pamela Henry-Walker has been a natural artist since she was a little girl. Elementary school is where her teachers noticed her talent for drawing, and had her drawing things for the bulletin boards. After getting her B.F.A. at State University of West Georgia, she moved to New York to become an entertainer and help heal the world through art and dance. Her paintings have been seen throughout the world touching the hearts of many. She is an accomplished singer, dancer, and actress, traveling the world and making her mark in film, theater, and television.
